2 1/2 hour guided tour to Rana’s most used hiking destination. Including guide and refreshments. From NOK 495, – pr. person.
Finnsetveien. When you start the tour in Fageråsen, you soon feel the atmosphere in the forest. You walk up the old hiking trail, first used by the Sami, then by everyone who should go from Umskaret to Mo or vice versa. The road is not too steep and there are several places you can stop and take pictures of the city. Well up you come to “Appelsinhaugen”. A beautiful and very popular family tour or for those who want an easy and accessible tour up from Mo i Rana center. Finnsetveien is probably the oldest hiking trail found on Mo. It was Tora Meyer at Meyergården hotel who in 1935-1936 improved the trail up to “Appelsinhaugen”.
Once on the top, you are rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view. A beautiful and rich decorated shelter that is worth going into to see all the things in the shelter.
The trip takes about 20-30 minutes up to the destination and the same down. In total it is 2km. The trip can also be cycled with a mountain bike.
We take you on a guided tour to have a view of the city and its surroundings. It is a hike that takes you up to a vantage point known as “Appelsinhaugen”. When we go up to around 170 masl. we will tell you the story of this trail and the city. When we reach the top of the “roof” of Mo I Rana, you will get a wonderful view of the city. The trip takes about three hours both ways, and we can either pick you up at your hotel, or we can meet at the starting point. Maps will be available for you at your hotel. We make coffee by the fire, and you can have lunch up there too. We start from the ski jump hill in Fageråsen approx. at 10 and is back approx. at 13.
